The person who is beating the student in the video has been identified as Prashant Kumar, son of Ramphal Das, resident of Madhavpur under Parbatta police station area. It is alleged that he deals in smack and banned cough syrup.

According to the students, the victim student had complained about this, due to which the accused Prashant got angry and beat him mercilessly.
